FIABA – a fairytail in Italian; it also refers to the fascinating and versatile Tolkien novels. As in many of Björn Weckström’s jewels FIABA is decorated with an aquamarine cut by Bernd Munsteiner. Munsteiner is a German stonecutter and innovator of jewelry grinding, whom he greatly admires. The stones that Munsteiner cuts and the designs of Weckström’s jewelry are true kinder with a mutual conversation.

Björn Weckström
Björn Weckström (b. 1935) is a recognized jewelry artist and sculptor. He was the forerunner in designing sculpture-like jewelry for Lapponia Jewelry, drawing his inspiration from the shape and matte surface of gold nuggets from Finnish Lapland. Designing silver pieces, his aim was to use silver to portray the snowy, Finnish winter landscape with its frozen lake surfaces.
