2nd phase has began
Lapponia Jewelry, one of the leading jewelry design companies in Europe, introduced in February 2009 'The Next Episode" an international jewelry design competition to honour its forthcoming 50th anniversary in 2010.
The design competition was arranged to encourage young talents to design contemporary art as well as to improve their possibilities to present their work internationally. Nearly 140 designers from 26 different countries participated in the jewelry design competition. From nearly 140 participants the Jury has chosen 17 entries for the 2nd phase.
The Jury would like to comment following concerning the competition: “We are pleased with the versatility and impressiveness of the ideas. In many entries the participants took risks and interesting new ways of using jewelry were presented. We feel that new materials with new perspectives and directions were well used in a new and a fresh way." The Jury has chosen 17 entries for the 2nd phase. Participants who are selected to enter the second phase should send mock-up models of their designs to Lapponia Jewelry Finland by the end of November 2009. Any queries concerning the second phase should be submitted by October 30, 2009. The secretary will reply in five working days. She can be contacted at competition(at)lapponia.fi. |
