Petrified Lake ring

After years of absence, the Petrified Lake ring is available again as a limited series of 85 pieces. Designed by Björn Weckström in the early 1970’s, this futuristic out-of-this-world silver ring is famous for having been worn by Yoko Ono. The ring is impressive, yet delightfully light to wear. Green and blue tint is applied by hand onto the silver element inside the clear acrylic sphere of the Petrified Lake ring, making each ring a unique piece of art. The limited series of 85 pieces celebrates Björn Weckström’s 85th anniversary. Only available in the Lapponia webshop and Flagship Store in Helsinki.

Björn Weckström
Björn Weckström (b. 1935) is a recognized jewelry artist and sculptor. He was the forerunner in designing sculpture-like jewelry for Lapponia Jewelry, drawing his inspiration from the shape and matte surface of gold nuggets from Finnish Lapland. Designing silver pieces, his aim was to use silver to portray the snowy, Finnish winter landscape with its frozen lake surfaces.
